Hotel Il Sereno is a 5-star hotel designed by Patricia Urquiola, opened in 2016 on the shores of the charming Lombard lake. The hotel strikes a contemporary note among the region’s traditional buildings, the majority of which are made of natural stone with terra-cotta-colored titles. The combination of cool and warm materials that is characteristic of the hotel’s outward appearance is carried on through its interior, for which the designer drew her inspiration from the glamour of the 1950s. Hotel Il Sereno represents an understated, modern kind of luxury, one that is most apparent in the high quality of the materials used.
The design of the recently inaugurated 150-square-metre penthouse Suite has a strong sense of place and use of natural materials from the region. Interiors feature a blend of bespoke pieces, contemporary objects and design icons which dialogue with each other.
Among them the full Versi collection of marble tableware designed by Patricia Urquiola.
Hotel Il Sereno represents a new era of luxury hotel for the iconic destination of Lake Como with an ethos of understated elegance. Not only design. The hotel’s signature restaurant is the Michelin Star Restaurant Berton Al Lago. Guests can also relax at the hotel’s full-service spa, situated under original arches dating back centuries.
A not-to-be-missed experience involving all the senses.
